2019 Fiano
Bright and lifted aromas of lemon zest, white florals and hints of sea spray. Refreshing with delicate flavours of citrus and white stone fruits, the palate has a lovey texture with great drive and a moreish finish
Vineyard and Winemaking info
Fiano comes from the Lacey vineyard in the Tatachilla sub region of southern McLaren Vale. Only a few kilometres from the sea and almost at sea level, it is a cool maritime influenced area of the Vale. Sandy loam over a limestone base, scattered with ironstone fragments. Grapes were hand and machine harvested, a small portion was fermented on skins until dry in a small open fermenter, and then matured in a seasoned French barrique. Pressings were wild fermented in seasoned oak and blended back. The majority fermented in stainless steel, using a mixed culture of yeasts. No fining, minimal filtration.
